Pools in a city of small lakes

Deltona was laid out in the sixties as one enormous subdivision, and it was built around dozens of small lakes. Pools near those lakes deal with a high water table, which means a drain and acid wash needs a hydrostatic relief valve open or the shell can lift. It also means the ground stays wet and pump pads sit in damp air that eats electrical connections.

The heavy storm seasons of recent years raised several of those lakes well past their banks, and pools on the low streets took on water and debris. If your pool flooded, the filter and the pump need a real inspection, not a rinse.

Block homes and their pools

Most of Deltona is concrete block homes from the seventies through the nineties, with pools added at build or a decade later. That puts a huge number of pools in the window where the plaster is failing and the equipment has been replaced piecemeal by different companies over the years.
