Lakefront living and lakefront pools

Enterprise runs along the north shore of Lake Monroe, from the old town center out to Stone Island. The lots are large, the houses are spread out, and many of the pools sit within sight of the water. That means a high water table under the shell and a steady supply of lake breeze carrying bugs and pollen onto the surface.

Draining a pool this close to the lake without a hydrostatic relief is how shells crack or float. We check groundwater on every Enterprise drain before we start.

Rural lots, well water

A lot of Enterprise is on well water, and well water in this part of Volusia carries iron and minerals. Fill from a well can stain a pool tan or brown and pushes calcium up over time. We test fill water when we take on a well fed pool so we know what we're balancing against.

Because the lots are big and the trees are old, the debris load is heavy and the pools are often unscreened. Filters here get cleaned more often than the same pool would in a newer subdivision.
