Golf course pools

Timacuan and the communities along Lake Mary Boulevard and Rinehart Road were built from the late eighties through the two thousands, and most of the homes came with a pool and a cage. A pool on a golf course lot gets fertilizer runoff in the rain, which feeds algae, and it gets full sun with no tree cover, which burns off chlorine.

Phosphates from fertilizer are something we test for in Lake Mary more than most places. A pool that keeps going cloudy despite good chlorine is usually a phosphate problem.

Heaters, spas and automation

The typical Lake Mary pool has a spa, a gas heater or heat pump, and an automation panel that controls all of it. When something on that pad stops working the owner is usually guessing which part failed. We diagnose the system as a whole, because a heater that won't fire is often a flow problem at the filter.

The plaster on the older pools here is reaching the end of its life, and a lot of owners are choosing a resurface and new tile at the same time as an equipment update. Doing both while the pool is drained saves a second round of disruption.
